The same road but looking back to old Rochester.

This evening i have been listening to the Leonard Cohen CD "I'm Your Man" and the Waterboys, "Fisherman s Blues" CD.

Rochester started as a Saxon settlement and grew hugely under the Normans after the invasion of 1066. It has mediaeval walls and a lot of Elizabethan and Jacobean architecture.

And I love it, 'cos I was born and brought up there! :o)

I suppose I just take it for granted- I think most Europeans do.

I have always been a big history buff. Especially English history. If there's anything to past lives, I think I had to have been English. :)

The 17th century and British civil war history is my specialism professionally, but given my complex ancestral background I can find stuff to interest me all over the place!

I have always been drawn to the whole Elizabethan time period.

So true. From childhood all through her life. :)
