It's all part of the government's scheme to get rid of who/what they deem undesirable. Culling badgers, culling unemployed and disabled people, culling young girls in Rotherham... part of one big picture.

Of course, one of these days that might turn on the government; they might get culled themselves. Certainly they're quite undesirable.

(This was the only comment I could make without enormous quantities of profanity. I know it's gallows humor, and possibly a bit over the line, but I'm incandescent with rage right now.)

They do essentially the same thing here in the States. Because all of the poor are dirty, lazy, stupid, etc, etc...the most popular excuse is 'why, they wouldn't be poor if they worked harder!!' which is horseshit. I worked hard for 21 years but had to constantly bend to state demands to feed my boys. They don't seem to understand their 'culling efforts' will only hurt the country as a whole. Fucking stupid Tory/Republican thinking. Fffffff...

*RAGE*

OMg, that is horrible, and it sounds like too many politicians here. I take that back, not just politicians. Too many people feel that way here too. And the sad/stupid thing is, most of the people that want to get rid of the support systems are one small mistake/accident away from needing those supports. ARGH..........
Hugs, Jon

This is not an isolated case - two years ago the government stopped recording the amount of people who committed suicide or died because their disability benefit was stopped - the figure had reached 12500.

I can see this government getting in again because people have low morale and think their vote will make no difference. Plus many people who work believe government lies about people on benefits being feckless and not wanting to work. Also there seems to be a media ban on showing anything that is anti-government - the recent countrywide public workers day of action received hardly any coverage at all. Thus the government controlled media seeks to control and manage the population's voting outcomes.

I really hope they do not get in again. Cameron is many times worse than Thatcher.

That is disgusting and it is coming here, too.

Absolutely non-caring governments making ridiculous demands of those who are the most vulnerable.

They should read the book Austerity Doesn't Work.

I read that article this morning - it just makes me want to throw things. Preferably at both the politicians and those who could interpret the awful regulations so much more sympathetically than they do.
