Saltdean Tavern.

Did a mystery shop last evening at The Saltdean Tavern but wasn't that impressed.Service was fine, but the beef was dry and the roast potatos dry as well. Disappointing.I would not return in a hurray.

Got back late after a few drinks at the Spanish Lady to get the taste of the food driven away with nice pints of Harveys Best.

Also we had our stall meeting at the uusual venue.Excellent results from the last 2 weeks of trading and came out with £64.70 after the usual rent.May it continue upwards.

Sneezing alot , dry throat and i think i have got this cold that has ben going around. Felt a bit under the weather yetsretday.

Recieved the Jarvis Cocker curated "the Trip" with a great track by Bob Lind "Cool Summer". A double album of some curious and surprising tracks.

Looking out for decent Contour LP's such as the Afro Rock one picked up recently, thatnks to the Vinyl Vulture website.Other lables they mention are Mfp, Golden Hour, Concert Hall, Rediffusion, and Saga.Worth a visit anyway.http://www.vinylvulture.co.uk/index.php

Hope this cold goes away soon.

Girl Monster and Gold Leaf Branches

Still not feeling 100% today, just did one mystery shop at Wickes up in Davigdor Road this morning.

Picked up a couple of nice CD packages from Resident with part of my stalltakings to cheer me up from the snuffles, coughs, and so on. Various Artists "Girl Monster" (Chicks on Speed 3xCD set) and also Various Artists "Gold Leaf Branches" (Digitalis 3xCD set) - a collection of wierd outsider folk art from Charambides,Keijo,Six Organs of Admittance,Kuupuu,Kulkija,Rameses 3,Lau Nau and more besides. Six CD's to blow away the blues. All relatively cheap as well."Girl Monster" was only £12 and the latter £15.Lovely packaging for both, esp. the latter red and and gold leaf cover in a plastic sleeve.(oh and both got excellent reviews in THE WIRE,okay Ortho Bob).

Ciao!
