The Wit of Howard

Anyway last night i went to bed early as i didn't have control of the TV set - and the two quotas of this strong Belgian Xmas ale at 12 % ABV went straight to my head - but no hangover this morning as it is pure - no additives.Trouble is with me, if i go to bed early i wake up dead early,  hence this post. Listening to the Black Dice "Beaches and Canyons" CD as i write - good noise music from New York (God bless 'em!).

Lovely post from [profile] pissed_pacifist encourages me to keep on blogging anyway.
(This Black Dice Cd is so f**ing weird but i love it)

On my journey back from Lambeth i got the 4.35 pm train to Brighton and saw Howard (our man with the trolley of drinks whom i have known for years but not seen him for a long while) and as i was travelling first class got my free complementary coffee, then followed with a John Smiths Bitter which i paid for (don't come free - oh bugger!!),topped off with a Carlsberg Special. Well i worked hard to get the six interviews on that RUSS job in a difficult area.Anyway Howard has a good wit and used it again cheering all the commuters with his repartee - it does make the journey so much more pleasant with people like him.

May there be more Howards on public transport.

Polwechsel

I know i should have gone off to London (again) but i had to collect the rest of the stuff from the stall (well a good part of it) and then (for my sins) been totally engrossed in the two Polwechsel CD's i snaffled yesterday. The sounds of Werner Daffeldecker,Radu Malfatti,Michael Moser and Burkhard Stangl   (with John Butcher  on Vol.2 minus Mr.Malfatti) are so amazing and for improv so totally controlled - well i loved them since their first outing on Random Acoustics in 1994  ( i assume it was, correct me if i am wrong) - and no - i am  NOT selling any of them you vultures. Infact two excellent replies from [profile] bagrec has confrirmed that i should keep them at all costs. Wonderful to paraphrase him!!

Well, i saw the two CD's at Record and Video Exchange Notting Hill and just had to get them - a bloody good exchange infact.

I will go later anyway as i do need men - who aren't in at this time of the day.
