Tanners Arms,Byker Bridge

Back in Brighton after a wonderful weekend in Newcastle and with nice sunny weather up there and back to dark skies and rrain this morning has made me feel like going back up North! At least when i arrived back yesterday i brought the good weather with me.

The Tanners Arms is on Byker bridge Road going towards Byker. It is a nuce friendly pub,and the decks and mixer are behind the bar. Each DJ got  afree beer whilst we played and i opted for London Pride

My DJ acessories here are a singles case which holds 200 45s (the silver one to the right) and an Ortofon LP bag with space for headphones and other bits and pieces. I took this photo at Newcastle sation whilst waiting for my train home. Anyway thanks to Craig for organising the event.

As he said in the VG+ Byker Groove threed
"Thanks a lot to everybody who turned up a played great tunes and great company.

Had a great night hope you all did.....Here's to the next one.

Hope the hangover's ain't too bad."

As to hangovers, I only hd one after Jukebox as it was lager (mind you free lager) which had chemivals in it which does give me  a headache. No problems with real ale, despite drinking it from 4pm to midnight on the Saturday, Honest!

Byker,Baltic Centre, Newcastle

Some more pics from Tanners Arms,Byker Bridge, Newcastle plus the Baltic Centre and the Millenium Bridge. Took one of Gateshead town centre, but very boring town in comparison.

On the Saturday before Byker Groove (which satrted at 4pm) I looked at The Baltic Centre, a contemporary art gallery , similar to Tate Modern, but on a much smaller scale,as the building use to be an old flour mill. Fairly impresive but i still prefer the Tate Modern.

This is the Millenium Bridge (not the London one!) which i walked over after visitng The Baltic Centre, then had lunch at Grainger Market.

Weather was a bit cloudy at first but it soon brightened up and the day was very pleasant.

Managed to get some diggin' done too, at Breakdown Records  (just off Haymarket) and Oldhitz Records in Newgate ,up from the station.
