Disparity

One thing that is very noticeable is the disparity between bus fares in Kent and those in Sussex. For example, a single journey from Seaford to Brighton (about 12 miles) is £2.80 whilst a four mile journey from Teynham to Faversham is £3.40. A journey from Teynham to Sittingbourne for a single journey alone is £3.20. This was the sum I gave to my cousin to get to Sittingbourne today.

Also the disparity applies to the trains as a return journey from Teynham to Sittingbourne is £4.50 whilst a return from Seaford to Lewes (a distance of around 10 miles) is £4.00.

It makes no sense, except that apparently Kent is more expensive to travel around than Sussex, and hence in the latter county more miles for your money.
