Echoes

Final piece of music for the late night and a long LP side of a track from one of my favourite prog rock albums , Pink Floyd and Echoes from the album Meddle.

Enjoy.

It is also to educate Jon, [livejournal.com profile] thespian15,  about other Floyd music apart from The Wall.

Different Trains

Sewing the disturbing Anselm Kiefer painting on [livejournal.com profile] cmcmck blog reminds me of the Steve Reich classic i had on the Nonesuch label, Different Trains, second movement, During The War.

As played by the excellent Kronos Quartet. Enjoy

18

If you have sixty minutes set aside then i would listen to Music For 18 Musicians by Steve Reich for its glorious hypnotic tones and slightly unfolding drama. Some say that minimalism is boring but not in his skillful hands. If not, use it as background music. Even Satie said his music was furniture music.

Not to everyone's taste but one i do like alot.
