Back From Herne Bay

Just got back from Herne Bay.I missed the last train back at 23:17 but due to rail works elsewhere there was a replacement bus service that left Herne Bay station at midnight.It took an hour to get here.

Still, the late evening visit has been done and the report finished. As it was steak night and that they had sold out of the Angus steak i had to have the sirloin. till, it was an enjoyable meal and all paid for by the research company.

The Quiz Tonight

Simon will be printing out my quiz for tonight - we are starting at 7 pm and i will be a tough quizmaster but not as rude as a Jeremy Paxman , more benign like Bamber Gascoigne.

There will be 15 questions of general knowledge, ten on music, ten on science and , ten on arts and books and ten on history. An tinme left over will be spent on naming that tun. Should be fun..

University Challenge - Pro-Celebrity Edition 1992

This is the edition of University Challenge that eventually led to its revival on the BBC. Here Bamber Gascoigne is back as quizmaster for a special show broadcast as part of the Granadaland theme night on BBC2 (28 December 1992). A team from Keble College Oxford, winners of the last ITV version of the show, take on a "celebrity" team of former winners: Alistair Little, John Simpson, Stephen Fry and Charles Moore.

Another Crap Weather Day

Glad i did not do any work today.It has been raining all afternoon. I do have some work tomorrow involving coffee shops and a newsagent,so i am hoping that it is a dry day as one of the shops is a kiosk that is exposed to the elements.

I shall pop over to the common room in the next hour or so to set up, and Simon will be using his sound system for the music intros.

It Was A Bust

It was a bust. Nobody turned up for the quiz. After waiting foo 45 minutes i nodded to Simon and told hum to reschedule it for another bight. All that wasted energy. But then that is this place.Sometimes the other inmates seem to have other things on their minds or other agendas.

Keeping the quiz questions just in case .. i will use them again.

Still, at least i got to play some decent music in my older laptop now that i have reloaded the Virtual DJ software on it - which i used when i gigged at The Northern Lights.

At least tomorrow will be mostly sunny for my visits to Sevenoaks and \Orpington.
