Good morning bloggers. It is nice and sunny here in the Bourne. I have discovered that it is the hostel WiFi that screwed up my LJ. Yet other sites like Facebook and Twitter were unaffected, nor was Dreamwidth. It was weird but now i know i cannot ise |LJ there as it goes back to the weirdness again when i do, as i discovered last night in the commons room

I am way behind with commenting on my friends sites but that problem really pissed me off and for that i humbly apologise.

Bro is coming around eleven loaded with goodies.

Next few days will be busy as i have visits in Dartford, Tunbridge Wells, Crowborough and Margate.

Not much else to say at the moment.

That's pretty bizarre about the wifi. The only thing I can guess is that the template you were using is housed on a server with .ru suffix (given LJ ownership, and I've seen them flickering past on bottom right when page is loading) and is blocked by nanny software on the wifi router. I forget where I was, but I have experienced where some aspects of LJ would not load because of this.

If the problem persists, you may consider a VPN, which will make your traffic invisible to whatever is blocking whatever is causing the problem. It does cost in time: the additional routing will slow down your connection. I believe there are free VPN hosts out there, but it's not a subject that I am really familiar with.

Another possibility is changing to a different DNS provider, which is just a configuration change. That could be part of the problem, and this is definitely free.

It is also possible that there are specific terms in your landlord/tenant lease, or whatever they might call it there (I think it translates to bangers & mash :-) ) that would be violated if you used a VPN or changed to a different DNS provider.

Ah, that's strange that only lj is effected by your hostel wifi.
