An Ode to Reuben

Kind of late with this but inspiration is not always on tap -

To lindahoyland - and to celebrate the anniversary of his adoption, Reuben the cat is issuing a challenge.

I did one better - i wrote this poem -




Reuben .

Oh brother, i forgot it was your anniversary
Just had a glance that was cursory
In my diary ,and hence there it is, o crap,
I know, i am so so cursed
But a reply to Reuben's challenge
As a poem is surely the first.

So now the exultations are in my apologetic lap
And although i have no forthcoming meeting
Planned, just accept this humble greeting
As i have no other option
Than to salute Reuben’s adoption.
