Misogyny

One reason why i am a socialist is that in a proper true social democracy there should never be  misogyny
.I saw this BBC documentary via Facebook from my good friend Sharpie Bongo - Blurred Lines, The New Battle of The Sexes.

IMHO I think misogyny is getting worse and that isn't something we should accept but I have no easy answers other than becoming the change you want to see in the world.

It is a pity that this documentary by Kirsty Wark will  only be watchable by UK located LJ people,as like Sharpie said, this is important, but i would like to feel what you good people have to say on this vexed subject.

This is a direct reaction to the new pushes for equality across the board. Those who have always 'sat pretty' are discomfitted by the new status quo. The bad thing is, they are a relatively small base, but highly noisy...ugh.

Well, if we could eliminate the Republican Party/Teabaggers, that would be a start in ridding the world of misogyny.
And it drives me insane when I hear women speaking against programs that support women. ARGH.......................

I'm not the typo police, just saying the 43-minute video Kirsty Wark BBC segment can be located online by viewers in the U.S., for one.

One of my ex-partners was a misogynist, I realised after a while. That's why he is an ex!

I don't think it's getting worse - but I DO think it's becoming more visible, which is both a good, but also unsettling thing, as it forces us to confront just how crass men are capable of being (and some women will also take their lead from that).
