Photos of Sevenoaks and Tonbridge

So, as i said in the previous , having to do Sevenoaks twice meant that i decided to snap away with mu handy Canon Ixus camera.

This is Sevenoaks High Street where i did my covert visit at the Thomas Cook travel agent.

IMG_1262

It is a quaint town that really was not designed for modern traffic with its narrow streets.

Back in Tonbridge i took some more photos around the ruined castle there.

Plus one of the main road bridge going over the river that flows through Tonbridge/

The pic below is of two bikers, a chap and his shorter girlfriend in animated discussion outside the George in Teynham.

This last photo was taken the previous day. The only reason i knew that she has female is when i heard her discuss something with the guy as i walked past them afterwards.

That castle looks like it's seen better days. lol.......

I really like the bridge picture. The building on the right hand side is so cool/old world. :)

WOW, she is short, or he is really tall. :o

Such lovely towns. No, not designed for modern traffic - sometimes those little villages can get loved to death by visitors.

So thoroughly agreed. ^_^ Cars have many benefits, that's undeniably, but they similarly mustn't be permitted to lord it over the actual people all around - speed belongs out in the clear.

Oh how lovely... we should go there next time we travel :)

Somebody ought to tell Sevenoaks Council that while such flags look great in the Italian towns one find them in, they are mostly ancient designs and those do nothing for the place.

The upper Medway is such an attractive place.

Yes did look rather an eye sore.

Tonbridge looks really interesting - I hadn't realised it it had a castle, and the bridge is rather nice.

Wonderful English photos :) Yes, those streets was from a time before modern traffic.

I see school kids out in your first one, it must have been after school time.

Love the castle!

The bridge is so pretty, with all that iron grillwork.

Are you allowed to walk on the top of the castle wall? (I'm betting not…)

I am visiting friends in Sevenoaks in July - Knatts Valley Road :-)

The castle reminds me, oddly, of Caerphilly - similarly photogenic. Maybe I'll get back there someday, now I have kit a little in advance of the Canon A200 then. =:) Would be nice to drop by Cardiff again, after all, with that wonderful arboretum, the fabulous crannies of the arcades, and the bar at the Chapter, which introduced me to Westvleteren Abt.12. =:D

I remember visiting Sevenoaks a while back, it was a lovely place, but as you say the traffic was a bit of a nightmare.
