Soundtrack Time

From the soundtrack to Once Upon A Time In America is the title theme  track from one of my favourite film composers Ennio Morricone.

Enjoy. Good night.

What a stunning piece of music! I couldn't help but be reminded of the theme from Picnic At Hanging Rock, though I notice it was certainly not the same composer:-

I do like him, his spaghetti western work with Sergio Leonne is fantastic. I haven't seen this one, surprisingly. I think my fav film composer would have to be Eric Serra, he does a lot of work with Luc Besson. I'm also a big fan of Georgio Moroder.

It's a rare instance of a score perfectly supporting a film. I can't imagine Once Upon A Time In America with any other music.

The extended edition is coming out on video at the end of September.

Have you seen the Morricone channel on youtube? There's a huge number of his soundtracks, the mosre obscure as well as the famous (the whole of Once Upon a Time in The West - my absolute favourite - is there)
