A Scandinavian Morning

I am looking forward to going to The Duke of York's Picturehouse in Brighton. They tend to run less mainstream films and foreign language films. The one we are going to see is The Keeper Of Lost Causes. The outline of the film is that   chief detective Carl Mørck and his assistant Assad become involved in a five-year-old case concerning the mystery of politician Merete Lynggaard's disappearance - a journey that takes them deep into the undercurrent of abuse and malice that lurks beneath the polished surface of Scandinavia.

Sounds really good as i am also a fan of Wallander and the original Foreign language The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo series.

So in relation to this, the morning song today is by Swedish artist Anna Ternheim and the vocal theme tune to Wallander, Quiet Night.

Enjoy.

You should check out all of the books in translation by Jussi Adler-Olsen, Department Q1 series, if you enjoy the film. I myself should look for the film as I enjoy the books so much.

We rarely get grown up movies. :(

Mm! I could easily enjoy that, I feel. Regrettably, there isn't an arthouse cinema anywhere nearby, save for the city itself - loads there, of course, but that's £14.50 for the journey + travelcard, rather than being covered by my usual 4-week bus passes.

Picturehouses really didn't cover themselves in glory a couple months ago, when Mike Leigh sympathised with the workers campaigning for a living wage in one of the parent company's London operations - shortly afterward, his Q&A at the Little, in Bath, was abruptly cancelled. How petty!

Last Nordic film I saw, I think, was Headhunter - rather good!
