Be Still Grey Matter

Tis another night whence i was woken up by something and then in a position that i cannot get back to sleep again. So verily i shall stick on a DVD, as this might relax the brain to over-think and thus become still.

Perhaps it was getting 20 questions right when University Challenge was on, and getting five connections correct on Only Connect. This was preceded earlier by Eggheads and The Chase. All quiz shows that get my brain thinking hard. So DVD time it is.

I then followed these programmes with some reading of the John Locke book, and a few pages from the Brian Magee book "The Great Philosophers" .

What does your brain do when you can't sleep? Is it like on overdrive or is it like molasses, sticky and slow enough to actually KEEP you from sleeping?

Nothing sucks quite so much as insomnia - especially when you have to work the nest day!

I watch something relaxing before going to sleep. Often something that will not work my brain too hard as I am usually tired :P

I really wish our brains came with an on/off switch. :o

This keeps happening to me too. So aggravating! Hot cocoa helps put me back to sleep. :)
