So Today ..

Feeling colder this morning when i popped into the local post office. I am on a round trip to do the Gift Aid Project , but the donations i have are pretty dire. Oh well, as long as they generate the correct response from staff members then the job is done.

Sheerness will be first on the list, then back to Deal and Canterbury. The Maidstone visit may have to be moved (yet again). Infact, the Maidstone visit looks less attractive when i think what i have to do (try a rucksack on, and getting it adjusted, and have feet measured for walking boots) and the length of the report afterwards.

The speed on the net is still up and down but managed to run a You Tube clip on this ancient laptop last night without too much delay. Speaking with Sky they did say it will take up to ten days to achieve maximum speed on the broadband.

Signing off now.

Ten days to get the internet up and running, smoothly? Yikes...
Good luck with all your running about. :)
Hugs, Jon

I'm sorry it is getting colder. That must not be pleasant for you.

Good luck with all your visits. That last one does sound like a bit more work.

I'm on my ancient computer at the moment, too. Wish me luck!

What is a rucksack? And why would it take ten days to achieve max speed? I thought Europe was the land of instant and cheap internet service.

I do not know about the rest of Europe but here, alas, no as far as I am aware.

I don“t know how these visits are paid in the UK, but here they are a pittance.. I have done a few since asking you a few months ago, and it takes me a LOT of time to compile the reports.. and they usually are paid from 17 to 25 Euro. The problem here is also that I live in a smaller town and have to travel at least an hour to every possible place where the firms offer visits, so I have to add travel time and cost too.
In the past, it was easy to live with the money earned doing market research etc. Nowadays not even students could survive on that, I think!

Market research was a lot better years ago, and like you say, you need other avenues as you cannot live on it alone. Luckily i do have towns within the hour for me to visit on mystery shops. I also do online selling as well, and the occasional big payout market research job.

I do translations.. but these too are paid worse and worse. Probably because most people use google translate nowadays, as weird as the translations might come out with that...

Who would've thought years ago that one of our sources of angst would be slow internet?

Oh how true lol

Och...but hopefully after that ten days it will be steady?
