Tonbridge, Pembury and Paddock Wood Visit

Another bright very cold sunny day that soon ended before four o'clock.  Finished a couple of charity shop visits in Tonbridge and Paddock Wood plus a cafe visit at Pembury hospital. .

From these charity shop visits i found some books and DVD's , the paperbacks are -

I also took some photos with the digital camera.

On my journey i had a splendid idea about giving Xmas gifts to LJ friends by them doing a donation towards the gift, which will be random and hence a surprise, so i shall detail that in a following post. The donation would have to cover the postage cost but then the donation can be any amount after the minimum.

Mr Pye is a great book. Typically Peake, in its off-beat vision of the world. Have you read much of his work?

You must look out for a copy of the Gormenghast trilogy! Superb work.

They are astounding books - but you MUST read them in order as they constitute a single story.

I quite liked Kafka on the Shore, but be prepared to have a lot to mull over after you finish it and maybe even reread it a couple times.

Do you know, was The House of Spirits made into a movie several years back?

I collect for our library used books by Murakami and Allende. I have read a book by Murakami but not read any books thus far by Allende-peace

That's an excellent choice of books. I love Peake and Allende in particular.

sorry i'm not one of those rich patrons, or i'd throw some cash your way. and call it a christmas present. i hope you get some crowd funding. have you tried indiegogo? you just need to come up with a viable project and whammo! you'll be rolling in dough..

there should be a currency for creatives that isn't the skin off our backs.
