William Basinski

I have written about this meditative composer before and yet he still amazes me what he does with tape lops. This piece from 2013 is 42 minute long and never gets boring. An exquisite piece of ambient music.

William Basinski - Vivian and Ondine

This is definitely one of Basinski's darkest pieces. It is just so pensive, contemplative and cavernous. It's gaze is set on darkness, as if you are listening to the entirety of history stretch and warp through time. I don't know how he does it, but he makes the simplest loop of music transcend repetition, it just takes you off somewhere else. Meditative and beautiful. His music seems to speak to that part of all us, the human condition. A timeless composer.

Maybe we could add him to our "relaxation" channel at work. :)
