The Thanet Transformation

This morning I ventured out towards the Isle Of Thanet via Faversham and Canterbury, admiring the bucolic scenery on the way, and gloriating in the splendour that at last spring is here.

Whilst in Canterbury I did a couple of visits, including a Red Cross charity shop, and purchased a birthday CD for Spot. Had a lovely pint of Batemans Mocha ale  (6.0 % ABV) at the Wetherspoons next door to the chazzer. Lovely coffee and chocolate flavoured stout with a good strength.

I ended up in Margate to do another mystery shop. The weather was warm and i looked ridiculous in my winter togs, and wished i had more time available to walk barefoot on the sands. Perhaps sometime in May when hopefully we might have a heatwave, but I wouldn't rely on it knowing our unpredictable weather.

Also , on the way to Margate in the suburb of Westgate On Sea, i had  to take a photo of a shop that amused me.

I was tempted to go in.

At one point I thought I was back in Brighton until i realised that the coach was at Canterbury bus station.

From the charity shop picked up a DVD cricket quiz, a book and a CD which I am listening to right now, BBC SO / Adrian Boult doing Vaughan Williams  Symphony No. 6 and the Frank Bridge composed "The Sea" by the BBC National Orchestra Of Wales conducted by Martyn Brabbins.

Next excursion will be on Friday, another pub visit and a cinema visit in Rochester. I want to see that new film starring Morgan Freeman called "Oblivion", a science fiction movie!

Suppose I will be up the local pub soon as Spot is already up there, invited by his mate Kev.
