Scan Man

This morning i woke up early to get ready to see Henry in Sittingbourne for 9 am. He came all the way from Alton in Hampshire to go round with me and train me on this scanning promotion job in Superdrug. both here in the town and in Sheerness.

Finished earlier than expected, although on my own it would take up a full day. I do not, as yet, know when i will be going live on it on my own, without supervision.

Quite busy again tomorrow , with the moved Matalan job in Canterbury and a visit to Ashford afterwards.

Nets

The scanner for this job fits into the oldest looking modem I have seen for ages. It is almost ancient. Anyway, connected the modem to the phone line and plugging the phone line into the modem to send off the two scans resulted in - nada - nothing. It kept tripping out of the log-in so i will have to contact the help desk tomorrow morning. I am usually quite techy about these things but this kit seems to have come from a timewarp before the seventies.
At least both are freephone numbers.

Talking of time warps , watched an old Sandra Bullock film last night called The Net (1995) . She is a computer analyst who finds herself with a data disk that can hack into computer systems and can cause havoc, and finds her identity has been wiped out. Anyway, it is amazing to see those old  3.5" floppy discs were still in use in the Nineties. We have come a long way since then.
