Back In Kent

Back at base, as i arrived back at around eleven, after doing two visits ,ome in Kemp Town and the other in Bexhill On Sea.

I had a pit stop at the John Logie Baird pub in Hastings, a pint of Old Speckled Hen and then one in Faversham this evening, a lovely pint of Sixpoint Xporter (6.0 % ABV).
That Brooklyn brewer do some fine pints of beer.

Midnight Brigg

For my post midnight music i have chosen a piece by Frederick Delius, as it is from a CD i found Tuesday in Kemp Town, Brighton, a rhapsody called "Brigg Fair".

Enjoy.

All Done

This morning i hoovered before doing anything else. I then dome my two reports from yesterday, and now it is time for a bit of reading. Then i have to think hard about this mandatory inappropriate work shit coming up as i have loads of visits this month and i will not be able to do all of them at just weekends.

Book 1 - Simon Bailey "Dürer"

Simon Bailey - Dürer: Colour Library (Phaidon Colour Library)

First book of the year to be completed.

A wonderful book! Plenty of great big pictures, though for the most part they only are only preceded by a relatively short description. It gives you a nice scope to a polymath who was a genius.

This is a very good overview and history of this artist and his works

Book 2 - Jeph Loeb "Fallen Son"

Jeph Loeb "Fallen Son: The Death of Captain America" (Marvel)

A series of stories following the death of Captain America, and how the rest of the Marvel heroes respond to his death. Cap was never one of my favorite Marvel characters - too much of a goody-goody. But there was some inspiration in seeing the eminent Jeph Loeb handle depicting the respect and admiration that this iconic character brought out in his partners in battle, whether they fought beside him or against him.

I thought Falcon's eulogy and Wolverine and Bucky's angry conversation were both quite well done.
