Canterbury Visit

When i arrived in Canterbury yesterday the weather had dried up and it turned out quite sunny. The first visit i did was Wetherspoons for the meal. It was curry club day so i had the Flaming Dragon curry washed down with a pint of Westerham Double Stout (5.5 % ABV).

I also tried a Broker's Gin and Tonic as an accompaniment

I picked up three books for a pound each from the sale in Waterstones.

.

I also picked up this book for a quid from the Chaucer Bookshop.

When i arrived back i quickly did one report and then went out to Sittingbourne to see Phil at the Summoner pub.  The Jennings Cockle Warmer (4.2 % ABV) and the Moorhouse White Witch (5.0 %  ABV) ales were both excellent.

A Wyatt Morning

All this week  Radio 4 , in one of the book reading series, has been highlighting Different Every Time, the official biography of Robert Wyatt. It is a book i definitely want to read as i have always been a big fan since the Soft Machine and Matching Mole days. Meanwhile here is a track from a Peel Session. It is called Sea Song.

Here is a BBC documentary about him fro 2001. You will need to put aside an hour for this.

Bjork sampled the voice of Robert on her Medulla album on a track called Oceania.

Enjoy.

The Grim Facts

This was posted on bro's site four days ago. I know i just caught up with it. He says"What I read here has just strengthened my resolve to help oust this coalition government. IDS and Cameron, you disgust me." Dam right there -
