R.I.P Kev

Teynham is a large village between Faversham and Sittingbourne and where I lived for a while with my erstwhile horrible cousin. At the time I lived there, my mate Phil had run the pub  called the Dover Castle Inn,  which was just a few  doors away  . The opposite side of the road towards the edge of the village on the main road lived the Rickwoods. Kevin Rickwood was a self-made plumber, underground piping engineer and other things related to do with the type of hard shitty sewage work many people would not do but it made him a millionaire. He often used to pop in with his coworkers to the Dover Castle, and as a boss,  always gave his coworkers a round of beer.  His pockets were often full of folded money and one night in the pub I saw him drop two hundred smackers out of his jeans pocket, and he had not realised, and I picked it up, gave them back to him and he gave me a £20 note from the fold for my honesty. He often gave Spot (my cousin) a beer and he knew Phil very well, and also Tracey and Zoe next door to us. As for myself, I only knew him a little. He was a very generous person but would not suffer fools gladly or those who took advantage of his generosity. Anyway, a few days ago he is taken ill and rushed to the hospital - which I presume is the one in Canterbury. He had caught this horrible virus and passed away the other day - just 52!

Teynham is mourning the loss of this stalwart geezer of the village.

Beer As Vaccine!

Perhaps not so appropriate after the Kev post but sometimes we do need a laugh in these horrible times --
