I seem to remember the scientific community congratulating itself on having figured it all out about 1880. Just a couple of loose ends to follow up on.

I'm sure there is way more to learn...we just haven't figured out WHAT we need to know because of our current,limited view and understanding.

That is assuming there are any observers at all. I'm not sure if the old rule follows, 'last one turn out all the lights'.
