Just finished my reports for today - all five of them as i had a couple in Deal, and Dover and then Spoons in Sheerness. So now it is time to relax and it is midnight soon.Mind you , it has been a very mild day again. One of them was a supermarket where i picked up a couple of beers.

One in a can - the other a bottle.

and this heavy neatl one -

The Iron Maiden Red and Black Porter (6.8 % ABV)

The Iron Maiden Porter looks really interesting. I'll have to check my local Total Wine's international beer selection and see if they might have it available by the bottle or six-pack.

Be perhaps a touch wary - the Iron Maiden "Trooper" was.. not a bad beer, but rather nondescript. It might be worth checking reviews, or just buying a single bottle first.

I'm hoping to find a single bottle. My local warehouse liquor store allows mix and match six-packs of brews, so I try out a lot of different breweries that way. Good to note that you thought it was nondescript, though. I appreciate the input.

The basic version is bland but this red black strong one is very good IMHO!

Your photography is leaping ahead! =:)

Ooh, Harbour are canning now? Interesting! That'd make it much easier to buy from them. As is, I can only find their IPA - a beautiful pint, but I'd really like to explore what else they're coming up with.

(Speaking of mail order, I should note Bath Ales currently has their superlative Festivity porter available in microcasks. It's every bit as good as from their pubs - live, tiny casks. And Festivity I'll recommend highly - it's not so much a porter as a gloriously rich, copious, generous winter warmer of an ale. It's the kind of pint to make you feel happy to be alive =:)

I'm not sure if we get the Bath Ales here in the Midwest of the USA. I'm just delighted that the holiday vintage of my favorite craft beer brewery located on the Northwestern Coast is actually available (and quite good, for that matter). I'll keep my eyes open for it, though. I enjoy trying a variety of beers.

Oh, cool beans! It's often worth supporting smaller brewers who manage to get their wares available more further afield - it's a challenging matter, especially if dealing with live beers. Good festivals can be such a fabulous opportunity to enjoy beers you might not normally encounter outside their home territories - doubly so if it's anything on the heavier side, like porters or barleywines. ^_^ It might be worth contacting Bath Ales, if you're sufficiently interested - they're very helpful.

(I have no connection to Bath Ales, beyond being a fan. ^_^ I lived there for a few months, and got to enjoy their works in their best condition, including their seasonals - Festivity's exceptionally good, and I'd also highlight Rare Hare. Both are only available for a matter of around six weeks)

The Harbour ones should be available in Morrisons - they are here in Kent at least.
