Weekend Wanderings
SUNDAY
Snooped around the boot fair at the station, and bought two LP's, "Buddhist Drums Bells and Chants ,KyotoJapan" (Lyrichord LP) and June Christy "Recalls Those Kenton Days" (Capitol) and two CD's, one by Oscar Brown Jnr. "Sin and Soul" and Curtis Mayfiled "Roots" (Charly), both £3 each. From Borderline the reissue of Trees "On The Shore" (Sony CD) - a classic piece of acid folk-rock.
Then finihed off a financial survey for Field Vision - glad to get rid off that one!!
L and I had an evening meal at Nandos.
SATURDAY
Did a mystery visit to Pret a Manger in East Street, and then over to Hove to do a survey at the exit to the Costa Coffee shop inside the big Tesco store there. Popped in to Fine Records afterwards and then the charity shops, and bought some vinyl which included two James Last ones for 25 pence each in Blatchington Road, a Bert Kaempfert LP and another version of "Hair".
A quiet day otherwise.
FRIDAY
A visit to Littlehampton in the evening to do a PRS at The Crown pub. The live band were called The Electric Experience whose music is mostly covers of classic Jimi Hendrix songs and other sixties rock plus a couple of their own songs. Had four pints of Old Speckled Hen whilst at the pub jotting down the tracks they played. Caught the last train home. A really good rocking evening.
