Cushing Senseless
The microwave has now been replaced. A new one arrived this morning. Now all we need is to sort out is the electricity to the wall sockets downstairs minus the ones in the kitchen.
Tim actually burnt the new toaster on Tuesday evening, a genuine accident. Mind you, it was a cheap sub ten pound Wilkinsons variety which i bought when i almost melted the old one. He kept the old one though which is now up and running, despite my attempt to cremate it. The toaster is no longer on top of the cooker, as it had always been, even when his mum was alive. I am going to have porridge in the morning anyway.
In the afternoon I did a visit to Gillingham and found some very interesting books at 50p each in a Demelza chazzer (they are a children’s charity).
Arthur Schopenhauer “Essays and Aphorisms” (Penguin)
Bernard Williams “Descartes, The Project of Pure Enquiry” (Penguin)
Alan Sokal and Jean Bricmont “Intellectual Impostures” (Profile Books)
I was going to venture elsewhere but after visiting an Iceland shop decided to come back.
Yesterday I did a round trip across the north side of Kent via Birchington On Sea , Herne Bay and Whitstable.
Bought a pair of Clarkes shoes from the Sue Ryder shop in Birchington for £4.95, which I used today, and a couple of books from the Red Cross chazzer in Whitstable.

Whilst in Whitstable I had a pint of Vale Good King Senseless Ale (5.2% ABV) at the Art Deco Wetherspoons , The Peter Cushing. The actor lived in Whitstable and died there on 11 August 1994, and the pub has facsimiles of old horror posters on the walls.
I also picked up Kingsley Amis “Lucky Jim” (Penguin) and John Buchan “The 39 Steps” (Penguin) at 75p each.
Wednesday morning posted off 12 books, a few ebay items, a few CD's and two slabs of vinyl. Well they do say that books sell more at this time of the year than any other.
Tomorrow off to the Sussex coast for the weekend and my gig on Saturday. Coming back Wednesday.
