Flo The Garden Cat

IMG_1485

Flo is enjoying the sun and watching out for grasshoppers. Her latest is to present a live grasshopper as a present to us. Sg=he gently picks them up ,comes indoors, and offers it as a present.

We usually get half of a chipmunk.

I had a cat once that loved to catch locusts and would hold them inside her mouth loosely while they frantically flapped their wings, almost like she was getting off on the sensation. Then, of course, she loved to release them in the house once she was done.

She looks quite alert.

So, she catches grasshoppers, eh? Quite novel :)

She must like autumn :)

Yes, have not known a cat to do that before!

Beautiful cat! She looks like she's really enjoying herself.

I read somewhere that when cats bring us animals they've caught, it's because they never see us hunting and are concerned about us. LOL.

Lol-love that!
We only get dead offerings, you must be extra special!!!
:-))

Well she was a stray , a bit like Bob in that book i just read

That's very impressive, that she can bring them to you live. And a live grasshopper is a much more manageable gift than, say, a live but wounded mouse.

She is lovely.

Ezra (in the icon; he died three years, poor guy, but he was getting on) used to eat grasshoppers, which annoyed me, as he tended to throw them up later. Bleah.

Rosie, the cat we currently have, loves moths.

Flo is quite lovely, btw.

Grasshoppers - just what you always wanted, no doubt.

The mighty huntress!

One of our cats used to catch wasps, proudly show them off to us, and then eat them with every sign of enjoyment.

Awww... :)

Maggie just tries to eat them. LOL.........

My cat, Max, used to leave dead mice on my pillow as a gift for me. He was always disappointed when I would throw the mouse into the woods, instead of eating it.
