Yeah Right

This has been floating around FB. I was going to post it up earlier but didn't have time. Now i will because it is so apt.

"Apparently Nigel Farage and UKIP supporters are upset with this picture. So please DO NOT share it. Thank you." - yeah right i thought.

Better still, share it!!!

Top Tune

So following on the thread from that great Carpenters song i end up in Detroit with the sound of the Motor City, Motown, and If I Were A Carpenter by the Four Tops. Another great tune.

I wonder where the musical thread will take me next?

The Apex of Love?

So from the Four Tops to another top tune from the Northern Soul scene with the sweet falsetto voice of Robert Knight and Love On A Mountain Top.

Enjoy.

Or Is It Love?

Finally as we reflect on love in the last  song it reminds me of the band Love and Alone Again Or from 1967.

Enjoy.

An America Morning

Been listening to the soundtrack album Once Upon A Time In America , composed by Ennio Morricone, which is full of beautiful elegiac music and one of the most poignant tracks is Deborah's Theme.

Tugs at the old heart strings that tune. Enjoy

A Purr-Fect Day

Just been reminded from a post by [livejournal.com profile] cmcmck that Friday was International Day Of The Cat.

I wonder if Florence knows? Looks like we will have to get her something special. Do so on Monday.

Birds

So popped over to Faversham to sell some books, and then had a pint at the local Spoons, and drunk my pint outside at the back of the pub. They call it a garden but there is no garden, and is more like a large patio.

I was watching some sparrows and a red breasted robin dart between the tables picking up the crumbs and left over food on the tables. A brazen lot these birds!

Crazy Sanction Reasons

Some of the crazy reasons people on benefits have been sanctioned - it defies logic and just makes you weep.

1/ A man had to miss his regular appointment at the job centre to attend his father’s funeral. He was sanctioned even though he told DWP staff in advance

David Cameron benefits sanctions

2/ Sean Halkyward, 24, said his benefits were sanctioned because he looked for too many jobs in one week

3/ Mother-of-three Angie Godwin, 27, said her benefits were sanctioned after she applied for a role job centre staff said was beyond her

4/ Michael, 54, had his benefits sanctioned for four months for failing to undertake a week’s work experience at a charity shop. The charity shop had told him they didn’t want him there

Plus ,  a leaked document says that Universal Job Match is too expensive to run and has loads of fake jobs on it and could well be scrapped.
