Book 40 - Hugh Honour "Neo-Classicism : Style and Civilization"
Hugh Honour "Neo-Classicism : Style and Civilization" (Penguin)

This is quite a solid introduction to Neo-classical art and philosophy of art. Useful illustrations, though I would wish them to be in colour rather than black and white.
I studied some art history during my Open University days so some of this material i have already covered, albeit, some twenty years or more. So this comes as a good refresher as i am not an early art historian.
However, this book is an easily accessible guide to the non-art crowd, but a working knowledge of the time period discussed would be useful. Luckily, i have studied the period before, but a glossary of the period in both historical terms , and cultural tropes, would make the book more ennoble for the non-art readership.

Dismissed
Tories dismiss protesters as not being "Grown-up" in anti-austerity march in London today.

Once again, proving that this government are a bunch of heartless morons.

Quiet Saturday
Been a day not doing much. Done some reading, listening to music, finished off a few books, so reviews are pending, and sorted out books for possibly selling. With only twenty quid available which i will need for Monday when i do the three visits in Brighton.
I also listened to some music, in particular the following -
Jack Johnson - In Between Dreams
Various Artists - Arabesque
Arctic Monkeys - Humbug
Matt Costa - Unfamiliar Faces
I also sold a few cheap CD's on Discogs and reduced some others to try and generate some sales. Needs must!
