I have been watching episodes of Primeval and now have completed season 4 with just one season to go. I use to watch it on real-time tv back in the day. It has always been one of my fave telly programs.

It is so nice to watch it all over again.

Finished watching the last episode of the six-part mini-series Hawkeye. I loved it. In fact, all these miniseries have been wonderful, such as Loki and Wanda and Vision.

I would love to see a new series of Agent Carter. I suppose it will not happen now, alas.

The weekend is here. Quietly relaxing and the hoovering can wait till tomorrow morning lol!! So on such relaxing afternoons, I shall now reserve to listen to some quality operas. If you said I would be into opera ay 17 I would have laughed. But now, and ever since The Wire in 1991 that introduced me to Mozart, it has been one of those genres I have quietly appreciated, and hence today right now it is Don Giovanni.

I found this 3 CD set for a quid in a charity shop some weeks ago, but only got around to listening to it today.

Last night I watched the latest episode of the new season of Star Trek Discovery and the latest DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Both are very enjoyable series in my opinion.

The weather is cool around 6C and rain is expected within the next hour. So it is nice being warm at home with good music and good books.

Oh, and before I forget, I have added my wish list to this year's paying it forward -

Have a peaceful day in these uncertain times.

Another series has just started in the MCU and I watched the first two episodes this evening. Hawkeye starring Jeremy Renner as the eponymous hero. Yep, from the first two episodes, I think this will be a good one.

Another slouching day of doing little except reading, listening to music, and watching some movies and TV series. The movie I watched was the classic One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest. I also watched a DVD of a BBC drama in three parts called “Life In Squares”, a story ranging over forty years of the complex relationships pf the Bloomsbury set of Virginia Woolf and her sister Vanessa Bell and Vanessa’s tangled sexual alliance with gay artist Duncan Grant.

I then watched the latest Doctor Who with the scary Weeping Angels. This is becoming one large complex story, but I am loving it already.

The sixth and final season starts December 19th on Prime. Looking forward to it.

The Expanse Season 6 - Official Trailer

I walked into town and back whilst it remained a dry cool day. I sold some books at Past Sentence for six quid. Bought a few items off the market. Had a beer and a cornish pastie at my local pub and then walked back. I then had a bit of a siesta before making my dinner.

I watched a couple of nights ago the first episode of the fourth season of Star Trek Discovery and the first episode of the 8th season of The Flash.

I also watched Tilda Swinton's portrayal again of Orlando based on the Virginia Woolf novel. I also have read the book. This was on Britbox.

Xmas is just over a month away and I doubt I will reach the hundredth read by the end of the year. Alas, other things have into conflict with the reading and that is partly due to listening to vinyl again. However, the last few weeks I have been reading much more as I am beginning to run out of LP racking space unless I move some CD boxes elsewhere. I seldom read and listen to music at the same time. esp. if lyrics are involved.

I will need more CD racking as well. Oh well, c'est la vie!

Just watched the final two episodes of Supergirl. This is the last season. It has been running for six seasons. The final two episodes aired together, and happily with no cliffhangers.

One of the best TV dramas from the past - written by Dennis Potter - was The Singing Detective.

Here is the original BBC trailer for their series -

In between the Wednesday Matinee and Off the Record, a trailer for the new Dennis Potter series which went out the following week and soon became regarded as one of the finest TV dramas of the era.

Please dismiss the awful American film version of it!

Well, a bit of a relaxed uneventful day. That is how I like it sometimes. Just let the world pass by, listen to some good music, read a bit and chill out.
There is no bus service round here on Sundays anyway.
I did go for a nice walk as it was sunny if cool, but warmer than of late.

Watched the second episode of Dr.Who and a couple of science documentaries.

Tomorrow I will be enjoying the food prepared by Anna, our Asian lady who lives above me, who is giving us a feast tomorrow in the common room. I will be taking pictures of course.

Have any of you Whovians watched the first episode of the latest season of Dr.Who yet? I watched it last night and found it a bit confusing at first. Let me know what you think.

By the way, who loves the new post editor? I tried it. Did not like it and went back to the old style.

TPN’s Angel Guide - Season 2 Episode 11 "Redefinition"

ENJOY

Well well, at last, somebody has done a drama of the classic Isaac Asimov trilogy of Foundation.. I first read the series back in the seventies and thought it was quite exceptional for the genre until I read Frank Herbert's "Dune", Arthur C. Clarke's "Childhoods End" and stories by Philip K. Dick. As far as hard science fiction goes though, Foundation is hard to beat.

Anyway, I was looking at what to watch next on OnionPlay, and there it is. I just watched the first episode. Looks amazing too. I see that is an Apple TV drama. Thanks, OnionPlay for the fact I do need to subscribe to Apple though.

Doom Patrol is back as well, and in its third season and that is just so brilliant. I am also enjoying the new season of Titans based as it in Gotham City. Oh, and it is the first time we see Wonder Woman in the series, which although played by a different actress, is welcomed indeed.

Stargirl is just a little flat this season and that is a shame but I am not enjoying it as much. However, I am enjoying Roswell New Mexico. It is as good as the original version if not better. Still enjoying Supergirl which will be ending soon.

So, what is next? Well, still awaiting the next season of The Expanse. That is a terrific show and of course Dr.Who.

So back to episode 2 of Foundation. Oh, and OnionPlay has that new Marvel movie The Ten Rings .. whatever.

Another mild sunny day but not as warm as it has been. Still, I did manage to do some covert online shops and then visit town for lunch at my local pub.

Cannot beat delicious fish and chips with a beer! Even if it is not Friday!

Not much else to report today, except for the fact that I have another pub meal in Rainham tomorrow with Ewart.

Finished watching all ten episodes of the last season of Lucifer. What an emotional rollercoaster though. Loved the ending - very fitting.

Well, another fairly good mild day.

Watched the last few episodes of the classic Doctor Who with Sylvester McCoy as the Doctor and Sophie Aldred as Ace.

After 35 years she returns to the Whoniverse. Although her departure was never seen on screen, various explanations have been put forward as to what happened to her. The Virgin adventures saw her going to live on Gallifrey, while the more canonical explanation says that she ended up on Earth running her own charity, A Charitable Earth. This was referenced in The Sarah Jane Adventures and in the trailer, for the Season 26 Blu-ray set, as well as the novel At Childhood’s End which was penned by Sophie Aldred herself.

Sophie Aldred returns as Ace

Sophie Aldred is returning as Ace in a new Doctor Who spin-off adventure – Torchwood: The Red List.

As you probably know, Sophie Aldred’s classic Doctor Who character was originally the companion to the Seventh Doctor.

And at the time of writing, this is the explanation that is currently sticking. Indeed, the audio company Big Finish are picking up this plot point, and they have recently announced that Sophie Aldred will be returning to the Whoniverse in November 2021 in a brand new Torchwood adventure titled The Red List. In the story, she will go by her real name of Dorothy McShane.
