Sunday Songs

This morning i did the usual Sunday cleaning chores, and now time to relax. The cat has decided to sit on my legs so at the moment i cannot move, lol.

So some music for Sunday -

First off is this wionderful acoustic track by Alison Krauss and Union Station , called "Paper Airplane".

Next up, Judie Tzuke ,  "Stay With Me Till Dawn". Gets me every time.

Finally, Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush "Don't Give Up".

Apologies for the slight melancholia of these songs but i seem to be drawn to them. Enjoy.

Vive La Difference

Well i hae watched quite a few episodes of Season 1 of Supernatural, and whilst i do not want to upset fans of the series, it just leaves me thinking "so what".  Perhaps i do not care about the characters as do in Dr.Who or BtVs. I have tried to get into it but i think i  will have a better time doing sometyhing else. Anyway, i have the box set on Ebay today for eight quid.

In the end i went back to BtVS Season 5.

As they say different strokes for different folks.

More Slow Rock Grooves

A gorgeous number from the Popular Songs album by Yo La Tengo , "More Stars Than There Are In Heaven"

Next up Low with a track called Down from the album I Could Live In Hope.

Low is an American indie rock group from Duluth, Minnesota, formed in 1993. As up of 2014, the group is composed of founding members Alan Sparhawk (guitar and vocals) and Mimi Parker (drums and vocals), joined by newer addition Steve Garrington (bass guitar).

The music of Low is characterized by slow tempos and minimalist arrangements. Early descriptions sometimes referred to it as rock subgenre called "slowcore". However, Low's members ultimately disapproved of the term.

Parker and Sparhawk's striking vocal harmonies represent perhaps the group's most distinctive element; critic Denise Sullivan writes that their shared vocals are "as chilling as anything Gram and Emmylou ever conspired on — though that's not to say it's country-tinged, just straight from the heart.

I have seen them live once and it was the most chillingly beautiful gig i have been to.

So finally from them a track called Words.
