Well i hae watched quite a few episodes of Season 1 of Supernatural, and whilst i do not want to upset fans of the series, it just leaves me thinking "so what".  Perhaps i do not care about the characters as do in Dr.Who or BtVs. I have tried to get into it but i think i  will have a better time doing sometyhing else. Anyway, i have the box set on Ebay today for eight quid.

In the end i went back to BtVS Season 5.

As they say different strokes for different folks.

It took me most of season one to really get to like Supernatural, so you're fine in my book.
By the second season I really was enjoying the show, and by I think the ninth season I thought they should have just stopped while they were ahead.

I've never been able to get into SPN either. My sister loved it, and has suggested that season two is far better than season one. She gave up on it a long time ago though. It's on about season fifty-eight at the moment. Goodness only knows how...

Usually I would recommend "Sleepy Hollow" to somebody looking to move on from "Buffy", but of course you already watch that. Have you seen "Babylon 5"? Very different, but same vintage as "Buffy", and absolutely superb.

I absolutely love Babylon 5. It was a great series deeply missed.

Some other stuff you may enjoy (if you haven't already seen them!):

Edge Of Darkness (BBC 1985), Sleepers (BBC 1991), The Crow Road (BBC 1996), Perfect Strangers (BBC 2001), Class Act (ITV 1994), Due South (CBS 1994), Dark Skies (NBC 1996), Orphan Black (BBCA 2013), White Collar (USAn 2009)

All are out on DVD, and have been a while, so worth keeping an eye open for on your travels.

Edge of Darkness was a terrific piece of eighties drama. I think i did watch Due South and did not like it, but the others i do not remember seeing.

I thought that season 2 of Supernatural got a lot better, but many season 1 episodes did have a B-movie horror feel, especially early on

I watched and enjoyed the second season, but after a few episodes of the third it was quite clearly the nightmare product of stereotypical fanboy misogyny of the "women are all evil, but hot as well so we can wank about them before they get killed" type hybridising with the attitudes of the kind of fangirl who hates all female characters because they get in the way of the slash fiction.

Nope. Think it is the characters. I just did not like them.

I have some friends that are REALLY into it.
I have bought the dvds, but just never sit down and watch them. LOL..... Thankfully I have gotten them relatively cheap on Amazon or ebay. :p

I've only caught an episode here and there of 'Supernatural' and have yet to figure out what's going on in it, so I have no opinion yet, but I can say that it didn't grab me right away like 'Grim' (or BtVS or Angel or Charmed or ..).

My wife has gotten hooked on it, we now own seasons 3-7 or thereabouts. Myself, I'm *meh* about it. I was listening to an ep my wife was finishing up when one of the bad guys was talking about the interference of the lead paid, I went in to Scooby Doo voice with "AND I would have gotten away with it if it weren't for those meddling Winchesters!"

My wife did not appreciate my humor.

That's OK, she can have Supernatural, I'll stick with Top Gear, Covert Affairs, Cutthroat Kitchen, and my shows.
