Before doing the covert shops i first alighted in Faversham to sell some books and quiz the bookseller about Malcolm John and Baggins Book Bazaar. However, apart from saying that the owner is a bit offish with customers, i am no closer to the author of "Around Historic Kent"..

Faversham was extremely busy.. The reason, A bus rally with old buses from the past taking people around the town, and some just still , not moving, for people to gawp at. There was even a bus service from there to Teynham station (the number 26 bus) as shown on this timetable.

There was an East Kent Road car Company bus with its dark red and cream livery. The company was formed in 1913 and taken over by Stagecoach in 1993.

Also, there was a number of Maidstone and District buses in town. This company was formed in 1911 and in 1998 was absorbed into the Arriva bus company..

For any transport enthusiastic this was a particular nostalgic day, and certainly so for my brother who was born in Kent (whereas i was born in Rugby, Warwickshire).

Afterwards , i traveled to Canterbury on a modern Stagecoach 3X bus to do my first mystery shop of the day.
