That book is on my wants list and i use to be a regular Northern Soul weekend tripper in the early 70's often going to Manchester, Wigan, Blackpool and Birmingham plus the Twisted Wheel which was my favourite as it had a great atmosphere and easier to get im without waiting outside too long, followed by The Torch club in Stoke or as we use to call the area The Potteries.
