The publisher may have insisted on the pushy cover. It sounds like an interesting and important book.
One of the things that makes me crazy about e-books vs. real books is the pagination. We have a mixture of media in our classroom and when someone refers to a page number it's not the same for the e-book users. I don't know how to solve it, but they should.
