GC and i went over to East Brighton golf Club,Peacehaven Golf Club and one at Seaford today doing a blasted golf study. Small beer moneywise but then she felt she needed me as a backup because GC didn't feel quite okay today. I am always happy to help out. At least we had a good laugh if not the most productive of times it is all a good experience nonetheless.
A nice package came through the post this morning from Jnana records - reviewed in this month's Wire magazine, called "Not Alone" a 5CD compilation for $28. Most of the money is for a charity and i don't normally buy charity aid records because musically they are rubbish EXCEPT for this one. The charity is the respected Medicins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) and it is to help the AIDS crisis in Africa. Curated by David Tibet of CURRNET 93 it features a host of stellar alternative Wire friendly acts and collectives such as Damon and Naomi,Fursuxa,Tom Recchion,Matmos,Colin Potter,Devendra banhart,Allen Ginsberg,The Hafler Trio,Marissa Nadler,Max Richter,Bill Fay,Bonnie Prince Billy,Nurse With Wound,Shirley Collins,Pearls Before Swine,Thurston Moore,Marc Almond,Coil,Ghost,Jim O'Rourke,Jad Fair,Charlemagne Palestine,Jarboe,Six Organs of Admittance,Aube,Thighpaulsandra,William Basinski,Keiji Haino,Vashti Bunyan,Dolly Collins,Angels of Light and lots more. 86 tracks in all and a lovely booklet and box as seen below.
In all a real mixture of styles from Jap noise to folk to avant-rock and all points between. Any regular reader of THE WIRE will know what i mean and how cool these people are. Stay hip read the Wire every month and if that isn't a plug i don't know what is.

Found a pic of the house cat of ours, Tiggy, who's trying to get on my lap as i write. She looks a bit stern in this picture like a demented Notorious Big,the Evil B of our collective dissent,and the WWS (Wild Woman Supervisor) of our distress.
Still waiting for a cheque from FRA which they said was posted last Friday. Hmm,was it pigeon post!!!
At least i have my music which really does keep me SANE otherwise i wouldbe in a mental institution by now. (Only joking).
Tiggy is a tabby and about 14 years old (that is only a guess as she was a stray that walked into our lives) and a bit fat like me. She sleeps with me most nights and lays upon my feet! Shes's now on my lap and its geting difficult to type as she keeps nudging the keyboard. GRRR!
So i better feed her.
It's limerick time again.
There was an old lady called Skerman
Who looked liked the Munster's Herman
With a face like an old goat
That you wouldn't bet in a tote
Making you do things like a German.
That is one i thought up on the spot improvisationally like a beat poet (Ha ha).
