Boot Fair Finds
Jul. 23rd, 2006 11:42 pmThis morning i popped over to the Sunday boot Fair at the station to see what bargains i could find.
First off for an incredible 50p "BBC Radiophonic Workshop - 21" (BBC Records 1979) which on side one has classic electronic pieces by Delia Derbyshire,Phil Young and others, including the original Dr.Who theme. Side Two is more up to date stuff and less interesting.
The Mystic Moods Orchestra "One Stormy Night" (Philips 1966) for only £1. Unused mint copy of it.Kulo was there ,sorting out some fine looking library records (including KPM and DeWolfe label stuff) and it was he who recommended the Mystic Moods album.
And finally, "Forms And Follies" by The Lonesome Organist One Man Band (Thrill Jockey 2003 CD) for only 50p - an album that Wire reviewed and it sounded very interesting. Haven't played it yet.
I was meant to go to the Buck 65 gig but tickets had dried up for it ,and after my day in London on Saturday, felt too tired to go out again.
Today i was standing outside Tesco in Church Road Hove for a survey about the Costa Coffee shop upstairs inside the supermarket. Well not the most exciting stuff i admit, but at least it was a nice sunny warm day. Had a nice pint of beer at Weatherspoons in George Street later on in the afternoon.
Tonight been listening to Andy Kershaw on radio 3 via the net.
