Ouch the eagle eyed Steviecat has done it again, nabbed a fine Lp worth quite a bit of folding tenner notes i guess for £2,specifically Stockhausen's "Microphonie I / Microphonie II" on a Deutsche Grammophon LP from Oxfam for £1.99,and probably would be selling at £30 or more in London second hand retailers i bet. Rare as hen's teeth these days.

Sad to hear the news of artist Vladimir Tretchikoff passing away. Found an obit in The Times at

His work is as invigorating as that of Martin Kippenberger or Dieter Roth.

There was a rock band caled Humble Pie in the seventies,an okay rock band, and it also means being timid and backing away from decisions, like in "eating humble pie". Well kiddos that is not my forte. Never eat Humble Pie is my motto.Enough said.

Now the weather has upset my plans for today as far doing street surveys for JRA,esp. this particular survey which i must complete tomorrow
and then colect the dog placement survey ones. Busy day again.Just hope i don't get wet in the showers like i did today.

Picked up two books in Hove which i will most probably keep rather than go stallbound. Eic Hobsbaum "On The Edge Of the New Century" (New Press 1999) and "Parallel Tracks , The Railroad and Silent Cinema" by Lynne Kirby (University of Exeter Press 1997) both for only £1 each. Also picked up the current copyof record collector which has a nice detailed analysis of the ouvre of Syd Barrett and the early Pink Floyd.

There was a small piece about Syd in The Word magazine but not enough to actually make me buy the magazine, and anyway i have plenty from this one,Uncut and Mojo.
