Well the end of NMD is almost to and end - thank goodness. It might have provoked some thoughts about the state of music but calling "sound-poetry" as music that is afraid to call itself music is just a tautological non sequitor. In the broadest sense all noise ,sound-poetry,and field recordings are a kind of music. Infact music is life.

Avoiding music altogether may be easy at home but outside it is difficult to achieve. I needed a haircut today from my usual barber and ,guess what , they played music from a CD, and then went to a pub for a drink, and again, music was in the background. You walk the streets and may catch sounds coming a car's open windows. Muzak seems to be the problem, forcing music into places that shouldn't have music. Mind you, some pepole like muzak ,as gloriously related in that book some years back called "Elevator Music".

Did a mystery shop in Croydon at the Goose In the Market and thus another free food day,a delicious chicken tikka masala washed with white wine. Whilst up there nipped into Beanos to procure more cheap cheap LPs from 20p to a £1,and for the five Lps spent no more than three pounds.Amazing! However will start playing them tomorrow as none of them are non-music music. Oh balls - screw this day - lets play music!!
