Vinyl, Rune and Emanem

This morning been listening to some of the vinyl from PAUL MUNSON yesterday,and it takes me back to those years circa 1978 - 1985 when i was very much into bebop jazz and the soul-jazz that was coming out or been reissued by various labels such as Boplicity and Jasmine (part of Charly records then). Acid jazz and latin-jazz,plus some bebop, was very hot in the club scene and at live venues then here in the UK. We seemed to take more to jazz than our American cousins,but then i have always felt jazz from the States was more appreciated in Europe. We too had our own homegrown artists like Stan Tracey ,Courtney Pine, Loose Tubes, and so on. Listening to this stuff has reminded how goood a scene it was. However we must move on as Paul said. He's into improv and the excellent Rune Grammofon label. He should come to the monthly Open House evenings in which live improv is very much alive. Emanem ia another label of diistinction as well. I recognised some titles in his collection that i have.

What with most of my research companies taking the whole Xmas and New Year off there has been little or no communications with them and with two bank holidays getting payments is slightly delayed,but some did pay earlier too. Spoke to EB the witch and she is flying off to Malta - may she stay there - and unfortunately back on Friday 5th January. So apart from this PRS on Saturday my next work day is the 4th.

Why do we have Xmas - what is the point? Commercial crap most of it anyway,and too many hols for some people esp. the banks who rip us off willy nilly and have the affrontary to call us customers.
