This dull bleak winter weather i think has given me a dose of S.A.D (Seasonal Affective Disorder) or whatever it is called because i feel somewhat dysfunctional and pissed off in general - a good lottery win or a huge wad of money in my hands will certainly help - or a quick trip to sunny climes like the south of Spain - well something to alleviate this morose malaise. Also, its the end of a short lived stint on the stall and these lefty wankers who run it can go and drown themselves in a sea of puss something green and horrible. Not that i am a right-winger - far from it - but i feel that there has been too much shit in my direction of late from companies, people and itinerent  Stalinist plonkers (RFW) that i find so irrittating to the point of screaming the hounds of hell to devour them all (perhaps that's why i am into black metal).

I had a wish that this year would be a better year than the uneventful 2006 but all these hopes seem temporarily dashed.  But then that maybe due to a malaise of the month and affects us all in disproportionate amounts. I don't know - but what i do  know - is that it cannot continue like this, and that is perhaps the only positive comment i could make out of the whole bloody affair.

One good thing - Tiggy is improving in health and her blood test is not due til next Monday and not yesterday - my mistake.

OK rant over for now.

Surprisingly Stephen is back from his holiday up in North Wales when i saw him at our stall meeting this evening as i thought he was still up there. [livejournal.com profile] bradxxx said he must have looked down upon us as tadpoles. I don't think that is the case - he might have just came back today anyway, and needed his last four weeks stall payments, and needs his rest. So maybe he's back at the bookshop tomorrow. However i will be up in London on the RUSS job despite  what the weather might  throw at us. Well i just hope it stays dry.

Very good result for me from the last 4 weeks on the stall - much needed!

I had a bit of a headache and had plain water (inside a pub!!) instead of the usual pint of beer but had a hilarious and fascinating discussion about music with [profile] bradxxx and we both agreed that CD's have compromised the fidelity and sonic quality of music with its compression technology and that vinyl still wacks more sonic oomph than CD's,and is less tiring. Also, that the internet,MP3's etc, has devalued music to the point of being another fashion accessory, and that music has no value these days. Maybe i am turning into a grumpy old man but i do find more pleasure from vinyl. Now i begin to understand why Mr Bradshaw gets so thrilled about the sonic loudness of singles. I must hunt down that Electric Punes 7" he mentioned. The only way i think a CD could sound as warm as an LP is to have high end equipment such as valve amplifiers and a Linn Sondek CD player - Paul Munson's set up is lovely and warm sounding. So all i need now is a small win on the lottery.
