Busy Bee and Other Happenings
Feb. 1st, 2007 10:31 pmA long day today - infact it has been quite a hectic week for me but not complaining too much.
Did manage to read a good article in the Guardian on Albert Ayler
( http://film.guardian.co.uk/features/featurepages/0,,2002660,00.html )
which has prompted me to dig out that lovely Revenant box set "Holy Ghost" i bought as a special present to myself from the Xmas before the last one.
Last night went to The Open House pub to see the monthly improv night featuring the excellent combination of Sylvia Hallett and Clive Bell. (Separate LJ write up with photos to follow).
After the gig bought their collaboration CD on Enammen "The Geographers" (Emanenm 2005) as copies were availbale for sale.
Also bought some other fine CD's today in Kingston and yesterday in Worthing. Transcargo "Momentum" (Spinney CD) for £1, Chicago style AACM jazz by Frequency called "Frequency" (Thrill Jockey 2006) also for £1 ,Gong "Wingful of Eyes" (Virgin) for £3, and Phil Ochs "Cross My Heart,An Introduction to Phil Ochs" (Polydor CD) for £3, in various charity shops, and from Borderline in Brighton Gershon Kingsley's "First Moog Quartet" (Dagored CD) .
I googled some info about Frequency and decided to review it for my Weirdsoundz site.
