Guiness Day
Apr. 12th, 2007 09:01 pmHad a great survey to do today from 4pm til 8pm at O'Neils pub,Brighton's premier Irish Guiness pub,on a survey about the new Guiness Red ,and only nine interviews to do. Was given a free pint of the new Red to try and bought two standard Guiness myself. Sometimes the perks on these jobs outweigh the negatives.
Quite a few new purchases - starting off with a great collectable Larry Page Orchestra LP "Kinky Music" (CS Records 1988) - all exotic funky lounge versions of tracks by the Kinks, and from Resident the new Low CD "Drums And Guns" (Sub Pop),Sly and The Family Stone "Fresh" (Epic Legacy) and Michael Cashmore's EP "The Snow Abides (Durtro Jnana).
From Sandpiper Books in their back room an interesting book called "The Book of Firsts" for a mere £1, such as the first tea bags, first nylon stockings, stamps etc - you get the drift.
Another lovely warm day after a cool morning.
