Yesterday we bussed over to my brother's place [personal profile] coming42    for a get together lunchtime meal and a few drinks. I brought a bottle of Lindemans cool white wine, and L a small bag of King Edward potatoes. We had a fish dish based on a recipe of Rick Stein - well he didn't have all the proper ingredients, and improvised a bit - but it was a delicious meal. Followed by cheeses and biscuits washed down with a glass or two of Chateau David (i kid you not) and an apple pie with cream.

We had to leave about 4pm as i had a mystery shop to do at The Odeon cinema,(courtesy of Market Checker) and it needed a female companion to check the ladies toilets. L saw "Mr.Bean's Holiday" and i saw the fantastc SF thriller "Sunshine" which i highly recommend, and must thank  [profile] bagrec for prmmpting me to see the film based on his comments on his blog.

Anyway a terrific film. Made even better by the fact that i will get paid for the visit!!

Oh,and still awaiting my money from A&L - they seem to be dragging it out. No surprise there!

Phew !! Quite a hot  day again - just did a bit of paperwork which i needed  to clear and not much else. Picked up some items from my brother's workplace,, Phase 4 tablets for weight loss and control.

Picked up from Borderline in their sale "Soul Gospel Vol. 2" Various Artists (Soul Jazz CD) for £6,and the third volume in the Stax/Volt singles collection. Just six volumes to go. But at only £4 each and well annotated they are bargains really, and when you compare it to the original 9 CD box set of these which sold at £120 back in 1992, £36 for all nine available seperately is a stone groove bargain.

Well i hope tomorrow is less stifling and humid - meanwhile down at the Evening Star with cold cold beers and perry. The forecast is for cooler weather which will please me as i hate it when its too hot.

Looks like i will get my A&L monies tomorrow,so a possible champagne day.

Meanwhile a nice quiche salad will do.
