Something For The Weekend
May. 6th, 2007 07:40 pmSUNDAY
Lazy day today.
Went out with L for a lunchtime meal at the Pump House. We had a Sunday roast washed down with a J2O and a pint of Bombadier bitter. Gave her £30 to spend on clothes whilst i nip around to see the reopened Borderline shop after its recent refit. Slightly bare at the moment but with enough space to fill up with CD and vinyl goodies soon. The pleace looks quite spaceous. Bough a copy of Jean-Claue Vannier's "L'Enfant Assasin Des Muches" (Finders Keepers CD)
Watched two rental DVDs - "Under A Tuscan Sky" which was a wonderful story which i surprisingly enjoyed more than i hoped for, and Sergei Eisenstein's classic "Battleship Potemkin",via Eureka, a company that has reissued quite alot of classic silent films.
Used my disc copy facility on the external DVD writer and did a perfect copy of "Battleship Potemkin" to keep for myself.
SATURDAY
In Saltdean doing a leaflet check survey on behalf of Waitrose. This would have been bundled with our free newspaper The Leader, but it looks like some people hadn't received theirs. This was due to the fact that i met two people distributing the Leader on a Saturday, which is already a day late if not two days late.
Had a pint at the Spanish Lady. Looks as though the pub is under new management,as not only different faces behind the bar but the beer has changed as well. They have Youngs Special , and no Harveys anymore - anyway, I like Youngs Special.
Back in Brighton got accosted by a charity mugger but i stood my ground. Seems they are in force now it's May.
Evening had to do a PRS visit at Walkabouts. A live PRS visit, and luckily the band called Electric Mayhem had a playlist which they gave me ,so one drink of Guinness and i was out again in no time. Did not have to spend three hours in the place as it is not my kind of venue really. Infact it gave me time to whip back to my local, The Evening Star, for a nice pint of Dark Star.
Oh ,and bought L a new Canon Ixus 75i camera from Jessops, which has a long optical zoom and a large display area for perfect framing. I must say its a nice little camera.
