The Weekend In A Rush

A superb live event in the evening at the Pressure Point (whilst doing a PRS visit)with three bands and a solo artist who kicked off the gig. The bands i enjoyed most were The Wire, and The Robotic Heart,, whilst the main event, The Leisurely Gentlmen , were just a little passé and dated, sorry lads.
FRIDAY
A day in London doing a survey near to Victoria station. Lorna was on holiday all week and came up separately to London (as i had to leave dead early to do my job). Afterwards i met her in a Cafe Nero just off Oxford Street, and bought her perfume from the large John Lewis store. I detoured to the Soul Jazz record shop in the centre of Soho to buy a copy of "Studio One Kings", and then we went home.
Friday evening a visit to Karma at the Marina for a DI PRS visit, and L. came with me to go to the casino and she met a friend there. The Karma is quite a good disco,and like the other Marina one Aqua fairly plush.
SATURDAY
A PRS visit to Horsham to write down the titles to songs played by The Revivals (mostly covers of fifties and sixties pop and rock). This was a live PRS visit outside in the glorious sun at the bandstand in the centre of town. They were followed by a traditional brass band (called Lancing Brass), which isn't my cup of tea, but dutifully i wrote down songs or tunes i vaguely knew (actually knew all of them embarrassingly to admit).
SUNDAY
Quiet day at home and lunch at Weatherspoons with L.
Later met GC at the Odeon as she was doing a trailer check,and we saw Spiderman 3. Panned by the critics, but i thoroughly enjoyed it.
So quite a busy few days.
Two more DVD rentals to watch , On and Off The Rails and another collection of old rail films courtesy of the BFI. Social history on film is always fascinating. Also one bought DVD "Tetsou,The iron Man". Got some watching to catch up as well. More late nights perhaps.
