A short run on the NHS bus job today starting at 5.30 pm and finishing at nearly 10 pm giving me a chance beforehand to visit the YMCA charity shop to dig out other thrift store price grooves. This time five albums for a quid!

Donna Summer - The Greatest Hits (GTO)
Michael Jackson - Thriller (Epic)
Motown Chartbusters Vol.9 (Motown)
George Benson - Living Inside Your Love (Warner Bros) - a double LP
Herbie Hancock - Future Shock (CBS)

Disappointingly, there is a severe lack of decent rock or prog albums to be found at this store, and i would have thought top selling Deep Purple or Sabbath LPs would be in their racks. Still,on my next visit to Crawley i shall keep searching for more heavier stuff. The above lot will do for the DJ nights anyway.

Some arty video improv from Alasdair Willis at You Tube - excellent.

Head poncho of Vitamin B12.

ADDENDUM

OH Shit ... silly error Vitamin  B12 is a democratic collective like most improv situations and has no head poncho. It was just a tired flippant remark of mine.

I was doing a Tesco Express survey in Croydon today and had about an hour left to hit the centre and check out some record shops.

I knew that Beanos was closing down, and wondered if it had shut down already, but blow me, it is still here (just). The three floors  that was full of vinly and CDs are  now down to one floor. There are some bargains to be had but lack of time prevented me from digging further.

Anyway picked up five singles there for 50p each, including "Save The Country" by The Fifth Dimension, "These Boots Are Made For Walking" by Nancy Sinatra and "My Baby Just Cares For Me" by Nina Simone.

Also from MemoryLlane Records a Herb Alpert LP from 1970 for a quid, including a cool version of "A Taste of Honey" and the Coaster's "Love Potion No.9". 101 Records was shut today, but at least Croydon still has three fine shops for old vinyl.
