Hove Actually
Jan. 17th, 2008 08:53 am Yesterday I took advantage of the dry and slightly sunny day. Completed a door to door survey for a company i have not worked foor before,
Afterwards i bussed to Hove to pick up the Johnny Harris LP "Movements" (Warner Bros, 1970) from Fine Records that Julian had put by for me. Also bought a Tom Jones single "I who Have Nothing" for the flip side which is part-penned by Johnny Harris. Both are reviewed in the WEIRDSOUNDZ site (link on the left at top of the links).
Then on to George Street chazzers, and picked up a mint "Replicas" by The Tubeway Army (Beggars Banquet) for £2, but nothing else grabbed my attention
Also picked up the current Mojo from WH Smiths with an article about "How to Buy Can" and the albums worth getting.
Last night listened to "Mark Lamars Alternative Sixties" programme on Radio 2. A fascinating selection of non-hits and minor grooves from the sixties.
Julian thought i had changed my musical interests completely ,but whilst contemporary and avant-garde classical still thrills me, it is just that i have expanded my musical palate to include groovy music from the past decades such as boogaloo, French ye ye, 60's garage etc.
