London Visit
Jan. 29th, 2008 11:28 pmBusy day all round and zipping all over the place -
First off, a round trip to Plumpton to see Peter Baker, drop off work, and get a cheque from him.
Then to meet GC (back from her hols) for a lunch at La Strada in Brighton, one of her mystery shop visits. All washed down with two glasses of red wine.
Afterwards got some cheap sale stuff at Boots (90% discount).
Then did part of this train survey for Pro-Tel Fieldwork and ended up in Camden again and bought some vinyl at MVE there,as well as exchanging some CD's,books and vinyl at The Notting Hill MVE. Also popped into Exotica and got three albums plus "Shindig!" magazine.
Then a mystery shop for me at Pizza Express Olympia at around 8pm. Phew!!
This is what i got today -
Ekseption - Reflection (Fontana LP 1973) - a kind of best-of from this Dutch jazz and pop-classical groove group.
Afrique - Soul Makossa (Mainstream LP 1973) - sealed original copy for £20
Charles Williams - Stickbal (Mainstream LP 1972)
Quincy Jones - Plays Hip Hits (Mercury LP)
Larry Page Orchestra - Executive Suite (Page One LP 1969)
Various - Mayhem and Psychosis , 20 Pysch-Punk Classics From The 60's (Roxy LP) - cover says vol.3 but lp inside is vol.2 - agh! Well it was only £2 but all the smae should have double checked.
Elliot Kaplan - The Square Root of Zero Soundtrack (Mainstream LP)
Freddie Hubbard - Breaking Point (Blue Note LP)
Chico Hamilton Quintet - Pacific Jazz EP (Vogue 7")
A really nice buch of mostly jazzy stuff. Should have checked the Mayhem and Pyschosis LP carefully though! Next time i am in Intoxica i will bring said LP with me to change it over perhaps. I will on the trains tomorrow at some point and Thursday too. I also have another Pizza Expres visit in Streatham as well.
Didn't go to Worthing yesterday so will do so in the morning.
